Alaskan Malamute World 101 (Introduction)

Based on the breed standard of the American Kennel Club, Alaskan malamutes have the range of sizes of 23 inches for females and 25 inches for males. Female malamutes tend to be less heavy than males. The usual colors for this breed are gray and black, black and white, and solid white. With regards to their eyes, they have brown-shaded almond eyes. They have very thick coat of furs which protects them from extreme cold weather.According to the American Kennel Club breed standard, the  Malamute's tail is well furred and is carried over the back like a "waving plume". Corkscrew tails are occasionally seen but are faulted in the American Kennel Club  breed standard (a corkscrew tail is commonly seen in the Akita). They well-furred tails aid in keeping them warm when they curl up in the snow. They are often seen wrapping the tail around their nose and face, which presumably helps protect them against harsh weather such as blowing snow. Their ears are generally upright.

Loyalty and intelligence are just two of what an Alaskan malamute famously have. They are sweeter and more affectionate to their masters. They are not suitable for guard purposes because they are so very friendly to humans. Sometimes they become as a form of destruction because they act immaturely as a puppy. With that they need to undergo training. Even though they are hard to train but they could be well-mannered because they love to please everybody. They are quiet and eat less. But always remember, proper socialization with people and other dogs is imperative and obedience training is highly recommended.

Apartment life is a great no no for them. Its because they enjoy outdoors. With that, they need at leas yard to play in.  They like to roam in what he considers to be his territory. In hot climate, they need plenty of water and shade to survive because this breed of dogs are tend for cold climate.
